Reusel, Friday, October 4th. 2019
At around 9 p.m., our British guests gathered in the Heemkamer at the town hall. Before proceeding to the church, where Mr. Cees Wouters conducted the Concordia harmony orchestra, supported by a special choir of 55 singers.
The Armed Man was performed here. This anti-war concert, composed by Sir Karl Jenkins from Wales, had been rehearsed especially for this occasion.
The music was accompanied by a film showing mainly images of war.
The church was literally dead silent; it was so moving, painful, uplifting and frightening, and we had great admiration for all the participating musicians and singers.
It was a very special event for everyone present, something we will not soon forget.
